ASSOCIATED REPORTING

The information system was implemented as part of the project “Strengthening Synergy between the Basel, Rotterdam, Stockholm, and Minamata Conventions in the Republic of Serbia,” conducted by the Ministry of Environmental Protection and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), with support from the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

The solution was implemented as a web application with the following objectives:

  • Strengthening synergy and cooperation between the Basel, Rotterdam, Stockholm, and Minamata Conventions at the national level
  • Improving collaboration among government departments and agencies, the recycling industry, and civil society in the area of chemical management
  • More efficient and systematic inclusion of relevant stakeholders in the waste management sector
  • Raising general awareness about the importance of environmental protection
